An order on the phone.
A clear route to payment.
Help your authorised team take eligible telephone payments through a Virtual Terminal. Start with the order process, access and responsibilities that surround each payment.
The customer journey continues beyond the call.

The payment is remote.
The process still matters.
Telephone orders and office-based payment requests need a clear working process. We discuss who takes the payment, how customer information is handled and which permissions and checks are needed before choosing a Virtual Terminal route.
- Describe eligible telephone-order and manually entered payment needs.
- Agree who can use the service and how access is managed.
- Consider call recording, card-data handling and PCI DSS responsibilities.
An online interface.
A considered workflow.
Taking payment over the phone involves more than the entry screen. The people, call recordings, access permissions and handling of information all need to fit the process.

Clarity before commitment. Product fit, provider checks and the applicable terms are discussed before a merchant application progresses.
Useful questions.
Clear answers.
What is a Virtual Terminal?
It is an online payment interface used by an authorised merchant user to enter eligible card payments. The provider determines the available functions and permitted uses.
Is this the same as an online checkout?
No. A Virtual Terminal generally supports a merchant user entering a payment. A website checkout is a different customer journey and requires its own solution.
Does a Virtual Terminal make our calls PCI DSS compliant?
No. The full environment matters, including access, card-data handling, call recording and operating controls. A Virtual Terminal alone does not establish compliance.
Can we take payments for any type of business?
Eligibility depends on the actual business activity, payment channel and provider policy. We check fit before progressing an application.
What if we have a complex contact centre?
A manually entered payment route may not be the right answer. Forthwise can discuss wider payment-security and specialist secure-telephony requirements separately.
